Split decision on road trip after loss to Clippers

Posted on January 30, 2014

The Wizards have mixed feelings about their stay at west. On paper a 2-2 record on a west coast trip is acceptable, but the Wizards believe they missed opportunities including on Wednesday in a 110-103 loss to the Clippers.

Bradley Beal was a big part of the Wizards second half surge and he led the team in scoring with 20 points.

Beal is on a minutes restriction and that could impact his participation in the Rising Stars Challenge at All Star Weekend.

The game story

Randy Wittman:

“We fought back. I wasn‟t really happy with our defense in the first half. 62 [points], I think we gave up in the first half. And so we had to come out with a better focus in the second half, which we did, and then we got things going from an offensive standpoint. We moved the ball [and] we attacked off the dribble a little bit. Mainly, we came out with a better effort from the defensive standpoint.”

Trevor Ariza:

“First half we didn‟t come ready to play like we should have; and I feel like that‟s the part of the game that got us.”
