Wizards eager to clean things up after sloppy finish on road

Posted on March 24, 2014

The Wizards had the best assist to turnover ratio in the NBA in February. Taking care of the basketball was the hallmark of the Wizards' six-game winning streak that closed last month. The Wizards were reminded of the need to get back to limiting turnovers in Sunday's 105-102 loss to the Nuggets in Denver.

The Nuggets scored 30 points on the Wizards season-high 24 turnovers. End of story.

Wizards had a chance to win

 Randy Wittman:

On what he told the team after the game:

“I told them we’ve given games away. We can’t do that coming down the stretch. That’s where they have to grow up. They have to grow up and understand that, understand what lies ahead. You have seven out of eight playoff teams or teams fighting for the playoffs. When you give away a couple games away like we did that doesn’t send a good message of where our thought process is in this whole thing.”

The Wizards three-game home stand starts Wednesday against Phoenix.
