Ping Pong Ball Pondering

I will try to make this short and sweet regarding the upcoming NBA Draft and ping pong ball extravaganza.  As the Wizards’ fate falls into the hands of the NBA Draft system, they will fall somewhere between 1-11, which in this draft is good.

Finding the diamond in the mines can be difficult. I do not believe there are immediate impact, game-changing players in this year’s draft; however, there are players that intrigue me with tremendous potential to be very good NBA players.

Depending on where the Wizards end up, it would make me very happy to see any of the following players on the roster next year. In no particular order here, these four guys have special skills that translate to the NBA:

Ben McLemore

Nerlens Noel (if healthy)

Victor Oladipo

Otto Porter

I also like Anthony Bennett, CJ McCollum, Cody Zeller, Kelly Olynyk and Shabazz Muhammad, so I would be OK with any of them as well. However, I would also explore packaging and trading the pick for a proven scoring threat that will complement the returning core players. This type of tactical move could push the Wizards into a solid playoff position next year.

More to come on the 2013 NBA Draft.......
